#1 Jesus

As I have said all week there is so much to be thankful for, of course none of it would be possible if God had not given it to us.  Everything I have is His.  But the greatest gift from God is the gift of His son Jesus.  It is through the life, death and resurrection we too can find life.

Many times I slip into a mind set of forgetting how much I am in need of Christ.  It is not intentional, but it is so easy to start numbering all of the reasons in my mind why God should love me.  What is amazing is even before those things He loves me just the same.  The love of Christ is not contingent upon me, He loves His children so much that he laid down His life to set them free.  The problem is when I fall into the mindset of thinking I deserve it, I begin to forget how unworthy of this love I truly am.

Jesus willing went to the cross and paid the price for my sins.  He paid the price that I could not pay so that I would have life.  Praise God He took my place.  The punishment that brought ME peace was upon Him.

⁵ But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed. ^NIV Isaiah 53:5

Thank you Jesus for the life you have given me and even more the life you have promised me!  God is good!
